Yesterday, Saturday, Grandpa and I went over to the Salt Lake Community College at 8:30 a.m. Mitzi and Mickelle were driving down from Logan for Mickelle's dance competition. There were hundreds of people there -- both to dance and also to watch.
Mickelle is 9 and an incredible little dancer. Her first dance was at 9:15 a.m. and then she didn't dance again until about 12:30 p.m.
There was an hour break from 11 to 12. Many of the people sitting around us left their seats. A lady and her little girl asked us if the seats in front of us were taken. We told her that the people left and didn't leave anything there to save their seats so it would probably be okay to sit there.
We started talking about dance and one thing led to another. I told her about all my granddaughter's that danced and that two of them were on missions now. I told her that Steffani was serving in Cincinnati and was suppose to be attending the Louisville Kentucky Temple on Saturday.
The lady's name was Jacque Lee and she was holding her 'smart phone' while we were talking. She lives in Centerville, Utah. She told me that her neighbor's son was serving in Kentucky and his mission went into Cincinnati also. She said "let me check my phone, my neighbor sent me a text and a picture this morning of her son, Elder Beckmen, she mentioned something about them going to the Temple today".
She finally found the message and the picture and showed me the picture !! Holy Cow -- there was Steffani in the picture with Elder Beckmen sitting at a table with other Sisters and Elders having lunch.
She said she would e-mail me the picture.
Isn't it amazing how we are all tied together under Heavenly Father !! There we sat among hundreds of people and a total stranger sits in front of us - and because of a friendly conversation and a smart-phone .........
